Wet and wild

Is it really a trail if you’re on the water? There’ll be a bit of turbulence in your wake, but no footsteps to follow this time. Still, it’s an outing, that’s for sure, and the river Teifi offers plenty of challenges. Llandysul Paddlers are easy to find – the centre and bunkhouse are on the banks of the Teifi at Pont Tyweli, just at the bridge crossing into Llandysul. Canoe Wales refers to the place as ‘a centre of excellence’ and there’s certainly some fine canoeing to watch from the bridge on competition days. But if you want a go yourself and have little experience and don’t yet have your own equipment, maybe a course is the best option. The next ‘Introduction to White Water is on Saturday and Sunday 20th and 21st September 2014. I hope to post up a photo here of someone who’s thinking of going along that day … The photo above is of someone a bit more expert.
